Suisse Verte Clandestine yet one more offering from Alandia. It’s a full flavored absinthe that’s actually produced in the high mountain valley in the Swiss Alps known as Val de Travers. It’s an area of land that lies between France and Switzerland that has a long history and tradition of absinthe making that dates back to the time when it was first brewed and sold to the public as cure all elixir.
This absinthe was blended for the drinker who is looking for more than what the others have been delivering. “Perhaps your one of them.” Fasten your seat belt because it’s a full 72% alcohol by volume, which makes this drink a whopping 144 proof. Now add to that that it’s heavily flavored with a secret blend of twelve herbs and spices, along with a heavy “full” dose of wormwood.
So what you get is a darker than usual “green” hand crafted “strong” flavored absinthe.
Even so, the dominate taste and aroma will be of anise and wormwood. Locally mountain grown wormwood from the region where it’s produced. Once again, this is a heavy flavored absinthe thats recommended for the drinker who knows and understands these flavors and is specifically looking for them. It louches nicely to greenish white.
